Description :

The sink in the cold storage room was probably used for washing fruits and vegetables prior to refrigeration. The simple clay-tile countertop with its white bullnosed edge is more typical of what might be found in the average Spanish Revival kitchen. The slightly matte finish seen on the porcelain-handled taps is nickel plate, a distinct improvement over the easily-tarnished brass of Victorian times. Nickel plate finishes were in turn superseded by even more durable chromium plating during the 1930s.
