Description :
|
By the time the firm of Harvey & Clarke designed the West Palm Beach station for the Seaboard Railway in 1925, the fashion for Churrigueresque design begun by the Panama-California Exposition had firmly asserted itself on the East Coast. The building’s elaborate cast stone archway, window hoods, and cornice embellished with pinnacles and niches evoke the richly-decorated Spanish architecture of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. The station was restored in 1991, and continues to provide both rail and bus service to West Palm Beach.
