Description :

The Spanish Revival made a high-profile debut in Florida in 1919, when Addison Mizner completed the imposing Everglades Club in Palm Beach. Following Mizner’s lead, local architects soon began combining Mediterranean, Moorish, and Venetian Gothic detailing into an eclectic mixture that has since earned the nickname “Florida Mediterranean.” This cottage was built by local contractor Mark Crabtree in 1924; its neighbor dates from about the same period. Both are modest examples of Florida Mediterranean found in West Palm Beach’s Flamingo Park, a tract established in 1921 at the height of the Florida land boom.
