Description :

Undaunted by its miniature size, this Santa Barbara gem nevertheless boasts all the requisite Spanish Revival elements: an archway (here enlivened by rusticated stone), a wrought-iron window grille, a tiny but well-proportioned tower, and of course, a barrel-tile roof. Dating from about 1925, the building originally served as an entrance gate to the Paseo System, a walkway leading to the nearby El Paseo shopping arcade. It was remodeled in the late 1940s, probably to accommodate retail tenants.
