Description :

In the early 1930s, Greek-born architect Spyros Ponti designed a wide range of Spanish Revival tract homes in the historic South Carthay district of Los Angeles, each similar in character yet distinguished by subtle variations in detail. This example includes three of Ponti’s trademark features--a porte-cochere or covered driveway, a walled patio, and a front window of leaded glass. Ponti’s interiors were unusually refined by Spanish Revival standards, featuring magnesite entry floors, faux-inlaid mahogany doors, and classical crown moldings, in addition to the random-plank, pegged oak flooring commonly seen in Spanish Revival work.
