Description :

The 1930s marked a great transition in American architecture. It was the decade in which Revivalism fell by the wayside, and Modernism assumed its brief reign over home design. Yet it was sometimes a surprisingly small step from backward-looking styles such as the Pueblo Revival to Modernism’s proclaimed radicalism. This Bauhaus-inspired Tucson home dating from 1939 features the celebrated corner windows, eyebrows, and crisp lines of the new genre, yet its unrelieved stucco walls and stark window openings retain an almost subliminal link to Spanish Revival works of the past.
