Description :

With their clay-tiled exterior stairs, ornate ironwork, and projecting balconies, these paired two-unit buildings in San Francisco’s Marina District represent the last of a generation of classic Andalusian-inspired courtyard apartments. The golden age of the courtyard form lasted barely a decade, from about 1922 to 1932; by the time this building was completed in 1937, its Spanish Revival idiom had already long been superseded by the more sophisticated lines of Art Deco, Streamline Moderne, and Bauhaus Modernism.
