Description :

The Marina District is also the setting for this elegant and unusual Spanish Revival home dating from the late Twenties. Its focal point is a spectacularly crafted asymmetrical bay window of almost Elizabethan complexity, with turned wooden mullions and ornamental spandrel panels carved in low relief, all of which are supported on a radiating set of scrolled wooden brackets. At background is a tiny mirador carried on wooden corbels, its half-round spindled railing reflected by the tile-capped hood above. Also of note are the array of blunt wooden brackets under the bargeboard and the overhanging fringe of barrel tile at the eave, both of which depart from the Spanish Revival’s usual preference for a clean-cut roofline.
