Mausoleum of Halicarnassus The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, built in 353 B.C. by Artemisia for her husband (and brother) Mausolus, ruler and satrap of Caria in Asia Minor. The structure, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World stood for over 1000 years before it was leveled by earthquakes and stone robbers.
